Searching for cruise travel deals can be a fun, exciting experience, or it can be a harrowing experience that just makes the cruise not seem worth taking by the time you’re done.  Whether you are looking for a Caribbean cruise or a European cruise, you can find cruise travel deals in a number of places.  But which one is the best place to look?

Actually, it is best to look at all the available resources for cruise travel deals.  The first thing you want to research is where you want the cruise to take you.  Do you want to see Alaska or Hawaii?  Would you like to travel to Belize or Bermuda?  This will narrow down the amount of research you will need to do in order to find the right cruise travel deals because not every cruise line travels to every destination.

Once you know where your destination will be, it is time to begin researching which cruise lines offer cruises to your destination of choice.  You can do this on the internet or you can call a travel agent to find out quickly, but a travel agent may not give you that kind of information on the phone because she is aware that you will be looking for cruise travel deals online.  She may ask you to come in and talk with her in person.

If you search online for the cruise lines that go to your preferred destination, you should also be able to go to each cruise line’s website, if they all have one.  The website may give you the base prices for each cruise that they offer, but you’re not likely going to find great cruise travel deals at the cruise line’s site.  Sometimes, however, they do offer an online booking discount, so look for these.

You can then search the discount online travel agencies for great cruise travel deals.  These are nice because you can compare the cruise offers from all of the different agencies in your own time, without feeling as if you are making a commitment.  You can also look for discounts on car rentals and hotels, if you book your cruise such that you would need either of these things. 

Most people, however, don’t use the hotel deals offered by the websites, and many don’t want a rental car for their few hours at port, either.  Make sure that you are looking for just cruise travel deals and not deals on packages that include car rentals or hotels if you don’t plan to use them.  You may want to look for airfare deals to get to and from your launch, though.

While you may need to book an appointment with a travel agent in order to find out her cruise travel deals available, you are in no way making a commitment to book with her.  This should be part of your research, though.  Travel agencies can sometimes get you great deals on cruises such as last minute deals, upgrade deals, and even deals on things to do at your ports of call.  They are experts at matching your preferences with the best cruise travel deals available.
